Families often postpone governance because everyone still gets along. But the true test of governance comes when interests diverge, generations change or the business must take difficult decisions.
A serious governance system does not remove emotion from the African family enterprise. It gives emotion a framework so decisions do not depend only on mood, hierarchy or improvisation.
